Since opening Flat Rock in 2005, Ed Madronich has injected fun and enthusiasm into both the wine and the winery experience. Expect o\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"-beat names like Twisted, Rusty Shed Chardonnay and Gravity Pinor Noir (all screw-capped). Theirs is not the typical wine tour; why not try a two-hour workshop called “In the Winemaker’s Boots” instead? Flat Rock’s 80 scenic acres of sloping vineyard, atop the Escarpment in the Twenty Mile Bench appellation, focus on
Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling and a splash of Gewürztraminer. The wines are marked by vibrancy and exuberance; Nadja’s Riesling is consistentlyawarded among Canada’s best, and the 2007 Chardonnay Reserve topped out at Cuvée.
